GEDCOM to PDF: What Works Today

GEDCOM stores genealogy records and relationships; PDF stores a fixed document. Conversion therefore requires a chart choice, privacy review and layout step rather than a simple file extension change.

Can I rename a .ged file to .pdf?

No. GEDCOM is structured genealogy data, while PDF is a laid-out document. Software must interpret the relationships and draw a selected report or chart.

Can AI Family Tree import my file now?

Not yet. The current maker labels GEDCOM import as coming soon. There is no hidden converter or fake upload flow on this page.

Which PDF chart should I choose?

Choose a pedigree for direct ancestors, a descendant chart for later generations, or a family group report for one household.
